Interim Finance Lead - Joint Venture
I am recruiting for a Local Authority who are seeking a commercially minded interim with experience of working on joint ventures in previous roles, who can help support their increasing commercial agenda.
You will be required to provide financial advice on commercial projects and innovative partnerships, supporting the finances for the Council’s housing companies and delivery vehicles with public and private sector partnerships.
You will be responsible for working with colleagues across the Finance Department to ensure that financial implications are accurately reflected within the medium term financial strategy, capital programme and treasury management strategies, and will be responsible for ensuring the Section 151 Officer has the information they need to inform Members of progress on the commercial agenda.
You will also be required to establish the Council’s commercial and financial position ahead of negotiations with third parties, advise on the financial impact of such projects on the Council
as well as the accounting and tax implications for the Council.
The rapidly increasing commercial agenda includes a major initiative to build up to 3,000 social housing units as part of the renewal of the Council’s housing estates, so any experience of the Housing sector from a Local Government perspective or an RSL perspective would be viewed most favourably.
It is essential that you can demonstrate a track record of working with and manipulating data within large scale financial models, developing them further to link them into the accounting arrangements for a joint venture to allow for quarterly monitoring to take place.
If you are CCAB qualified with significant experience of operating within a senior and strategic level finance role, have dealt with commercial aspects of roles, possess excellent interpersonal skills/technical accounting knowledge and have a strong “project focussed” approach, then this is a great opportunity for you!
