If you are an experienced programme manager with a track record of delivery in the public sector and have been involved in some aspects of the commercialisation of publically-funded organisations, this unique interim assignment is an ideal next move. Working for an organisation owned by a number of Local Authorities, you will lead the delivery of trading company status and an organisation fit-for-purpose over the next 15 months to a trading company status.
An innovative solution to some of the challenges facing Councils over the last few years, this organisation but has been running for a few years now, always with one eye on becoming a commercially-functioning trading company. Over the coming year, a variety of workstreams will be established and delivered to make this key transition and reality. We are looking for a programme manager to lead them all.
In terms of the background required for the successful candidate, we are looking for evidence in your CV that you have recently led a large programme with a number of concurrent and inter-dependent workstreams. This will need to have been within one or more public sector bodies, with a priority given to Council experience.
Your background will also ideally evidence a clear understanding of the challenges associated with establishing a trading company as well, including the nature of infrastructure required and the mandatory aspects of operations.
The role will run for 12 months+, and will involve working closely with internal senior stakeholders as well as key stakeholders in the relevant boroughs up to director-level.
This is an exciting challenge and a stable project to take on. The nature of the assignment means the role is considered within the scope of the IR35 regulations, so the right candidates will need to be willing to work accordingly.
