Senior Business Partner
An exciting opportunity for a qualified Accountant has arisen within Financial Services. We require a talented professional to play a crucial role in the Council’s Finance team, providing robust financial support, and leading on the closure of the Council’s annual accounts.
With continued funding cuts, the Council is striving to deliver savings through improved ways of working. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to undertake and add value to the role of Senior Business Partner. The Council has a strong framework of financial controls, which has assisted in achieving an excellent record of delivering the Statement of Accounts in a timely manner and with glowing reports from Auditors.
This highly influential role calls for much more than your ability as a technically proficient accountant. While you will have a key role in coordinating budgetary control, budget setting and closure of accounts processes, we are also looking for someone who wants to drive change and improvements in financial practice across the organisation.
You will manage a team of Business Partners, presenting corporate strategies and reports. You will have extensive knowledge of local government finance and the environment in which it operates, and the ability and confidence to work at the strategic levels of the organisation.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible, adaptable and thrive on challenges. They will have a great technical understanding of financial management and financial modelling and have an innovative and creative approach to problem solving. They will bring commercial acumen, experience of working at the forefront of financial practice and leadership skills that inspire those around them.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
