Financial Strategy Manager
Redbridge Council is situated in the eastern part of London, and provides services to approximately 297,000 residents. To support this they are recruiting a number of roles across the finance service. They are looking for innovative individuals passionate about moving away from traditional accounting and towards professional services, quality assurance, matrix working and accelerating pace. It is certainly a time of great opportunity – and the roles promise a brand new challenge with many rewards. Included in the roles is a Financial Strategy Manager.
The Financial Strategy Manager will play a key role in supporting Council wide transformation and continuing to build resilience and financial stability. The role will lead on the production of the medium term financial strategy, determining the customers needs, shaping the services and promoting a culture which empowers budget holders and supports the delivery of value for money services. Key responsibilities will include: -
- Leading on the production of the medium term financial plan, undertaking all necessary financial modelling and resourcing forecasts.
- Reporting and advising on the outcomes of the medium term financial planning process providing decision makers with a clear, medium term outlook.
- Deputising for the Head of Corporate Finance in providing finance advice to the Council through its Cabinet, Scrutiny Committees and Panels.
- Taking an active lead in the design and development of the information provided to the Council for the purpose of financial management.
To be suitable for the role you need to be an ambitious and innovative CCAB qualified candidate with extensive experience of financial management and financial modelling within a large and complex organisation. Proven exposure to influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders, ideally within a local government setting, is highly desirable.
