I am recruiting for a Hyperion specialist on a 12 month fixed term contract basis for one of my key clients.

 What you’ll be doing…

  • Managing and maintaining Hyperion-based processes for month end, reforecasting, budgeting and 3 year plan cycle to produce reports and analysis as necessary to meet the needs of the business
  • Preparing and delivering reporting packs to Senior Leadership teams, the Management Board and Trustees
  • Providing ongoing and ad-hoc support to the Head of FP&A, leadership teams and business partners for business projects and analysis of costs and revenues
  • Providing systems training to the wider finance team – group and business units
  • On-going technical administration and providing technical support of the system, to develop and maintain processes - maximise automation, minimise system downtime and external support
  • Acting as cover for the Internal Group Reporting Manager
  • Instructing and guiding Business Units / Support Services to ensure processes are designed and implemented to meet the needs of the business
  • Developing and rolling out standard review packs for business review meetings
  • Maintaining control over agreed changes throughout month-end, RF, budget and plan processes
  • Understanding the business to suggest, challenge and develop appropriate KPIs in line with changing business needs and requirements
  • Building and developing effective working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure information on developments and issues within the organisation are shared across functions and implications of such issues are understood in order to carry out the role effectively.

How success will be measured…

  • Understanding the Business and various business requirements
  • Reporting schedules derived fully from Hyperion data
  • maximum automation / minimum spreadsheet complexity
  • Hyperion hierarchies managed to support reporting requirements
  • challenge quality of data input to Hyperion in line with Group policy / business requirements
  • Month end, forecasting, budget & 3 year plan deliverables and deadlines achieved
  • Timely compilation and circulation of detailed planning task timetables, presentation packs, data analysis and any other business requirements
  • Clear process communications issued to Group
  • Coordination of effort across functions and Finance teams to produce required analysis.
  • Effective extraction of information from business units, support services, Hyperion to report financial data and KPIs on an on-going and ad-hoc basis
  • Effectively co-ordinating and providing systems training to users to allow them to self-serve, reducing the amounts of queries, support they would require on an on-going basis
  • Maintaining a close relationship with other members of the wider finance team to discuss Group business requirements and ensuring cross functional issues are highlighted and challenged
  • Maintaining business continuity during cover for the Internal Group Reporting Manager

What the client is looking for…

They can’t live without…

  • An individual with considerable experience in a commercial finance / decision support or group reporting role, dealing with multi entity and multi currencies
  • Management Reporting and experience of systems using Hierarchical structures
  • Hyperion Planning or similar Planning / consolidation reporting tool experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and stick to tight deadlines, self-motivated, able to time manage own workload with conflicting priorities
  • Able to liaise with all levels of senior management
  • Systems Administrator - strong systems knowledge. Able to retrieve data, navigate member selection and overall administration of system.
  • Highly numerate, ability to produce accurate reporting on time and free of errors
  • Experience of Advanced Excel, (Functions to include Lookups, IFs, Macros and Pivot Tables)
  • Experience of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint to a high standard)
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Demonstrable problem solving abilities

  • The ability to drive change, efficiency and improvements in systems, planning and reporting processes
  • Knowledge of SAP controlling reports
  • SAP BW. Able to run queries and export
