The opportunity

As a financial expert and strategic leader, in this role you’ll be delivering support and guidance to all levels of management and politicians across a range of complex projects. You’ll be able to use your depth of knowledge, passion and understanding to influence key stakeholders and drive efficiency and cost improvements, while providing strategic advice and direction. You’ll be accountable for all the financial aspects of medium-term business planning and you’ll help drive the delivery of complex projects that sit across the organisation.

About you

You’ll be CCAB qualified with a minimum of two years post qualification experience and evidence of your continuing professional development. You’ll have experience of financial management in a large, complex organisation, ideally the public sector, and provide great advice to use as a platform for influence and change. We want people who are connected and networked – who are curious to find new approaches and bring innovation to their service in the pursuit of better value and outcomes. You’ll need to show evidence of your direct influence in improving financial systems and of being able to evaluate and support the financial need of long term, large scale projects. You’ll have a passion for making a difference and demonstrate significant experience of influencing multi-disciplinary teams. Communication skills are essential in this role as you’ll be working across organisational boundaries with both internal and external partners. Plus we understand that life sometimes doesn’t always go according to plan and that there are times where work has to fit around you, which is why we are committed to ensuring flexible working options across all of our business units.
