The City of London Corporation is a fascinating organisation, combining ancient traditions and historic functions with its role as a modern local authority, providing a range of specialist services to businesses in the City and to our residents, workers and visitors. Many of our services have regional, national and international significance directly affecting people outside of the City.
Based within the Corporate Accountancy Unit of the Chamberlain’s Financial Services Division, we have two exciting opportunities, one responsible for providing comprehensive financial support to the City’s independent schools and their charities and the other to central service departments and several charities. Both posts provide a broad range of financial services, including the preparation of revenue and capital budgets, closure of year-end accounts, preparation of financial statements, budget monitoring, and the financial assessment of proposals. To be successful in these roles it is essential that you can provide effective financial management information and have the communication skills to advise at senior levels. You will also need to be an effective team player, willing to assist with the achievement of numerous goals and deadlines.
Confident and CCAB (or CIMA) qualified, you’ll be a quick-thinking professional with proven experience in public sector finance, ideally in local government and charity accounting practice. Applications from experienced AAT accountants are also welcomed.
The Corporation is committed to being Relevant, Reliable, Responsible and Radical. Our unique remit goes beyond that of a local and police authority including providing flagship cultural organisations such as the Barbican Centre and Guildhall School. We manage and protect almost 11,000 acres of open space outside of the City, own and operate three premier wholesale food markets, and run the nation’s Central Criminal Court at the Old Bailey.
If you’re ready to make a significant contribution to the future of the City in one or either of these roles we’re ready to hear from you.
Closing date for applications is 12:00noon on 21 February 2018.
