CIPFA, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, is the professional body for people in public finance. We champion high performance in public services by translating our experience and insight into clear advice and practical services. Globally, CIPFA shows the way in public finance by standing up for sound public financial management and good governance.

Our commercial activities are well established and provide a range of highly valued services to public sector clients. To help steer our business and position it for medium and long term growth, CIPFA is now looking to appoint a new non-executive director, we are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join the Board and drive forward CIPFA’s strategic development.

Working closely with the Chair and Executive team, you will have a strong commitment to customer excellence and the ability to provide strategic direction, leadership and challenge at the Board by holding senior managers to account and offering collaborative challenge and advice through the ability to balance risk and opportunity effectively. Board members also forge and maintain market and stakeholder relationships and influence interest and opportunities for our commercial activities.

We are actively seeking an individual with a successful track record in the development and delivery of commercial services to the public sector. You will have held senior leadership or consultancy positions from either the public or private sector, and will bring your skills gained from a broad commercial background particularly operating at a strategic level to this role.

You will have proven business acumen and a track record of success in the functioning of a high performing organization, ideally with international experience. An understanding of the public sector market in the UK and its transformation challenges is also essential.

For an informal discussion please contact Paul Woolston, Vice Chair, on 0207 543 5636.
