Together with an accountancy qualification (preferably CIPFA) and full membership of a professional body such as CCAB or CIMA, you have experience of providing sound financial management. Knowledge of Local Government finance, business planning and performance management is vital. Experience of leading on partnership working would be an advantage.

Equally as important as your technical financial skills will be your flair for leadership. A motivational manager of people, you have a demonstrable talent for communication. You know just how to engage with people across a large, diverse and politically sensitive organisation - from explaining complex finance strategy to non-experts, to influencing decisions at a senior level.
