Assistant Finance Technician
Your skill with figures will get London’s attention.
Here at the Met, things are changing. And it’s all down to an ambitious transformation project that’ll improve the way we work, and the way we police. Managing billion-pound budgets, our finance department is leading the way. And now we’re looking for people who are just as influential as the city we serve and the figures we work with. People who can adapt. Who can look at things differently. This way, we’ll focus on what matters and make our city even better.
With a collaborative ethos, you’ll work with our external providers to make sure our revenue and capital forecasts are spot on. It’s all about supporting budget calculations and cost re-allocation with sound data analysis. It’ll help us to finalise the budgets that span the whole of the Met. As part of this, you’ll help design, build and maintain the service-based costing model, and identify how we can maximise our spending. With your expert insights, our teams will make informed decisions that’ll have a huge impact on our organisation, and London.
A natural problem solver with an analytical mind, you’ll confidently analyse different sets of data from multiple systems. With a background in data mining and experience of various finance systems, you’ll operate at a detailed transactional level. Ideally, you’ll also be a qualified Accounting Technician. But keen to learn, you’ll quickly pick up new skills and enjoy approaching situations creatively.
Help us to set a new standard for the city. And have your skills felt across the whole of London.
