The Head of Finance, Services reports in to the Assistant Director of Finance and is responsible for leading the Finance Business Partner team supporting Adult Care Services and Public Health, Environment, Community Protection and Resources. The role is responsible for ensuring that service boards and budget managers are provided with appropriate financial advice and support, ensuring that finance is at the heart of decision making.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Leading on the development of the business partner team to deliver service improvement and efficiencies.
- Providing strategic advice and constructive challenge to Chief Officers and Service Boards on financial matters.
- Identifying, developing and delivering service and efficiency improvements and championing a culture of service improvement within the Business partner group.
- Acting as the finance lead on major council programmes/procurement ensuring robust financial governance in place and programmes deliver value to the council.
To be suitable, you must be a finance professional with excellent communications skills and the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders. Proven experience of developing and leading teams and delivering a business partnering function across a complex organisation is essential.
