Principal Finance Officer
This position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (formerly Criminal Records Bureau check)
As a high calibre finance professional, you’ll be used to working with big numbers. By coming to West Sussex County Council you will use that financial acumen to help us manage our key financial risks. We are currently at an exciting stage of our development as the department is upskilling, and as such we have a vacancy for a permanent principal finance officer post.
This role will work closely with senior Service Delivery staff and offers a dynamic and unique challenge. Delivering through a business partnering model, you will provide strategic financial planning support & advice, and consistent financial performance guidance, as well as taking on individual challenges within each Service that you may support.
You will be based at County Hall in the heart of the beautiful city of Chichester, in an exciting team that supports career development. Ideally boasting a CCAB or CIMA qualification, you will therefore have experience of working within a management accounting context, ideally within a local authority. Knowledge of children’s social care would be an advantage, although as the roles are generic the successful applicant could be assigned to support any part of the Council. You will have experience of complex financial modelling, and expertise of alternative methods of service delivery would also be of benefit.
If you sound like the perfect fit, then we’d love to hear from you.
