IT Finance Manger
An interesting project role has arisen at a central government organisation in the North West for an established management accountant to manage the finances behind a large scale IT systems integration.
Following considerable amount of change within the department and consolidation of separate entities, an opportunity exists for a senior management accountant to support the team. You will undertake a full review and facilitate clear and accurate migration of information to the new system, and your responsibilities will include the inter-company transfer of YTD actual costs; review and transfer of fixed assets and associated depreciation; review of current accounting treatment for IT contracts and managed services (including VAT implications); an end-to-end review of current IT capitalisation and depreciation processes to identify and resolve any issues. Beyond this you will be asked to propose, set up and embed new processes and guidance.
You should be an experienced accountant with exposure to the financial management of IT departments and a good understanding of the implications of systems mergers. It would be very helpful if you have previously gained exposure to a central government environment to better appreciate the scale of the work, and ideally you will have worked with the Oracle Resource Manager (RM) system in the past. Crucially, you must be willing to roll up your sleeves and demonstrate the tenacity that will be required to find and correct discrepancies in the systems. Strong communication skills are essential to the position as you will be providing a key link between different parts of the organisation.
This is a great chance to join a determined and hard working team and to take on a challenging project with a visible end point.
