Client Audit Manager
The Shared Internal Audit Service (SIAS) was established in 2011 and is considered to be an exemplar of local authorities working in partnership. We are a successful and respected internal audit partnership with the objective of being at the leading edge of audit service delivery. The commitment and dedication of our team and the co-operation of our partners continues to allow the service to combine the ‘in-house’ appreciation and understanding of local government, with the business-like focus of the big internal audit firms.
Our partnership encompasses Hertfordshire County Council and seven District and Borough Councils, although we also deliver a range of assurance and other services to other public sector bodies within Hertfordshire. We value shared learning and leverage the knowledge and experience of our sister teams in the Shared Anti-Fraud Service (SAFS), Health and Safety, Risk and Insurance, and Scrutiny to maximise the value provided to our partners.
We are looking for someone with zest and energy to think innovatively and bring a fresh perspective to our work. Assurance is entering an exciting and challenging phase and we need a Client Audit Manager who thrives on client visibility and relationship-building, is passionate about client engagement and the value of internal audit, and engenders enthusiasm within our team.
This should be coupled with a sound understanding of modern audit practice, professional standards and the local government risk universe. A proven track record in a leadership or line management role with responsibility for quality, performance and delivery is strongly desirable, but we value a keenness to succeed and develop, and welcome applications from those who have the credentials, confidence and ambition to learn and grow with the role.
As a client focused team, expectations are high, so if you think you have what it takes to deliver our aspirations, then we would be pleased to receive your application.
For an informal discussion, please contact Chris Wood (SIAS Audit Manager) on 01438 845513. (X55513)
Please be aware that this is a full time post within our team designed to meet our business needs. We support Hertfordshire County Council’s Flexible Working Policy and ‘SmartWorker’ initiatives enabling employees to work smarter, not longer.
To apply: Please follow the 'Apply for Job' button at the bottom of the screen. As part of the application you will be prompted to provide a supporting statement. This is your opportunity to evidence how your skills, knowledge and experience match what we are looking for.
