Financial Accountant - Local Government
Allen Lane are pleased to be working with a Local Authority to recruit a highly skilled Financial Accountant who can use their expertise to assist with the council’s year end close down. Working within a team that is currently going through a period of change, the successful candidate will be strong technically and resilient to working within a changing team.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Production of the annual accounts in compliance with standards and leading on management of year end audit process
- Provide advice and assistance throughout the department on best practice in taxation matters
- Ensure monthly production of trial balance and balance sheets
- Monitor and review existing finance systems and processes to ensure that they are effective
The successful candidate will be CCAB qualified with demonstrable experience of budget monitoring, budget setting and final accounts in a local government environment, together with the ability to organise, plan and deliver work to very tight deadlines.
