Strategic Finance & Compliance Manager - Salary up to £44,911 including a Market Supplement.  Benefits include generous Pension Scheme, Flexible Working and Relocation Package.

South Holland District Council is looking for an experienced finance professional to join our Senior Management Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Council’s financial transformation to become self-financing within the next 3 years. The successful applicant will gain experience in supporting the successful delivery of existing projects, such as the Council's wholly owned housing company, and play a key role in the identification, evaluation and delivery of projects to address investment requirements in key Council Assets and wider growth and commercialisation opportunities going forward.

As Deputy Section 151 Officer this role is responsible for the direct provision of strategic financial advice and support to South Holland District Council, including the development and implementation of strategies, programmes, policies and procedures that support delivery of the Council’s priorities.

The successful applicant will support the Executive Director of Commercialisation to provide effective and visible leadership and to develop the Council’s ambitions for its Finances.

The post-holder will work closely with the Council’s contractual partner (Compass Point Business Services) to align financial and accountancy services to corporate priorities and to ensure that financial services are fully compliant with best practise, national legislation and the Council’s policies and procedures.

This role may suit an individual with either an accountancy or audit background, however applicants must hold a professional accountancy qualification and local government experience would be an advantage.

For an informal chat about the role, please contact Mark Astbury, Interim Project Consultant on (01775) 764684.
