Project Accountant - Local Government
Allen Lane are currently working with a London local authority to recruit a Project Accountant to support senior finance colleagues, sitting within the heart of the Councils’ decision making process, through a integration and transformation project. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a council that is going through significant change and play a pivotal role in implementing the guidelines of how that works going forwards.
The Project Accountant will be required to deliver two key objectives:
- The implementation of a council wide corporate approach for devolved budget management
- Develop processes within the council’s finance system to ensure the system is fully functional and supports the requirements of the council
The role requires a collaborative approach to working with finance colleagues to deliver best practice and implement procedural change to financial and management accounting processes. As such, you will be a motivated self-starter with a successful record in a change environment. Experience of producing and publishing clear and succinct guidance to financial and non-financial managers is a must.
