Finance Manager - Environment & Community Protection
This finance role within the business partner team will focus on working with senior colleagues in order to develop robust financial solutions that support Council priorities.
We are looking for an experienced manager with drive and enthusiasm who can lead a team of up to 10 finance staff within the business partner team who offer financial support to the Environment department and Community Protection (circa £150m revenue budget). This includes leading monthly monitoring processes, budget setting, closure of accounts and driving forward budget efficiency in a challenging time for Local Government
You will be proactive and enthusiastic and will contribute positively to support future service delivery and development and delivery of a number of key projects. This includes the Commercial agenda, the Invest To Transform programme and support to the Local Enterprise Partnership.
This role will require the post holder to be able to work with, support and advise Directors and Assistant Directors across the organisation as well as to work alongside our commercial partners, reporting directly to service boards on financial robustness.
Strong communication skills are crucial to the role, building on good relationships with budget holders to support them to deliver their services within budgets effectively. Providing relevant support and challenge and promoting professional standards linking with other finance colleagues, such as the capital team.
