The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is beginning its second year of an ambitious three-year strategy that aims to significantly grow our income and demonstrate how charitable support will improve cancer care and outcomes for all patients. Along with funding an existing world-class programme of research, treatment and care, we have also launched a new £50 million capital appeal to build The Clinical Care and Research Centre that will provide innovative new solutions for the research and treatment of cancer.
Reporting into the Associate Director, Finance & Operations; we are seeking a Head of Charity Finance to lead the finance function day-to-day. Some of the key responsibilities are:
- Manage and complete all aspects of statutory tax and regulatory reporting in line with the current Charity SORP and FRS102, acting as the main contact point for the auditors, Charity Commission and Companies House
- Be responsible for the production and development of the monthly management accounting pack, including income and expenditure statements, cash flow, balance sheet and movement of funds statement
- Develop and manage the finance team, which currently consists of a management accountant and a finance assistant Support the Charity’s leadership team in making informed decisions by producing informative financial analysis
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of all financial information reported within the Charity
The successful candidate will be a high calibre and proactive qualified accountant with experience of leading finance teams, ideally in the charity sector and preferably within a fundraising organisation. Knowledge and exposure of strategic and operational planning is essential, as is the willingness to operate in both a more hands-on and strategic style. It is important to demonstrate passion and commitment to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity as an organisation and what we are trying to achieve.
