These are exciting times at Broadland. Real progress is being made with plans for the growth of the district and its infrastructure. We are redesigning services with a better sense of purpose and implementing innovative responses to the economic challenges facing our communities.
As deputy to the Head of Finance & Revenue Services; you will be the Council’s financial expert with confident technical skills and the ability to see the bigger picture. Supporting our services with their business plans, you will provide costing options to aid decision making along with a commercial view helping us to make the most of opportunities for innovation as well as highlighting efficiencies.
You will need to be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 2-3 years post qualification finance experience in local government. You will be good with the detail but be able to see the big picture and effectively engage your team in achieving their goals. So if you have excellent supervisory/management skills we would like to hear from you.
Having just been recognised in the Sunday Times top 100 Best Companies to work for once again, we offer a flexible and friendly workplace where working with great people really makes a difference. We have been awarded status as a ‘one to watch’ organisation and are keen to build on this in the future through staff engagement.
Broadland is a beautiful district with a mix of rural towns and villages and the suburbs of the city. Norwich is a city that has it all; from heritage landmarks and 21st century architecture to a thriving music scene, distinctive theatres, welcoming pubs and bars and a fantastic shopping experience. A city alive with an inclusive atmosphere, compact enough to make you feel at home in days, but with enough sights, local delights and cultural vibrancy to entertain you for weeks.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious person with an accountancy background to take the next steps in their career. You should have assisted with duties at this level and now feel ready to take the lead. We can provide you with this opportunity in a small and innovative authority with a supportive and developmental working environment.
