Merseytravel is the operating name of two associated statutory public bodies, namely The Merseyside Integrated Transport Authority and the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive.  It is a £370million turnover organisation comprising of circa 800 staff.

Merseytravel covers the Merseyside area. The Authority comprises of Elected Councillors nominated by the five District Councils on Merseyside (Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.) The Authority recently approved a three year corporate plane which sets out our approach to continue the development of a high quality, value for money and sustainable integrated transport provision for the entire Liverpool City region.
